Brett Tipul
I'm a Senior Technical Animator based in McKinney, Texas, with 15+ years across game development, real-time animation, and motion graphics.
Currently, I lead character animation and real-time VFX for FATS AR at Overmatch — a fielded augmented reality weapons training system used by military and public safety organizations. I work primarily in Unity for Magic Leap 2 deployment, building NPC animations, rigs, and particle effects that hold up under the performance constraints of untethered AR hardware.
In parallel, I'm solo-developing Precinct: ZERO, an arcade shooter coming to Steam. Every system — Blueprint programming, character animation, Niagara VFX, level design — is built by me in Unreal Engine 5. It's the project that keeps me sharp on the game dev side of the discipline and pushes me to own every part of the pipeline.
Before Overmatch, I spent a decade as Digital Studio Manager at Hoya Vision Care creating 3D character work and motion graphics for national events, then moved into motion graphics at Santander Consumer USA. I've also contributed art assets to indie games including House of the Dying Sun.
